Memories of Aeldaria is a high fantasy adventure title, with a dark gothic setting. It’s a project I got involved with well over a year ago, by responding to a random Craigslist ad, but it has put me in the middle of some very passionate individuals, and provided some very valuable experience for me.

For this project, I am the Lead Programmer; I’ve been responsible for the vast majority of the technical design of this game, as well as being a consultant for a lot of the gameplay design. Ideas for gameplay tend to go between myself, our Assistant Creative Director, and our Director. It has take a few turns from its birth, originally being concieved as a turn based roleplaying game, a la Final Fantasy. We are currently cleaning up an alpha level build of our game demo, which we will then look to secure funding. Due to an Non-Disclosure Agreement, I am not at liberty to show examples of some of my contibutions to this project, but there are a few examples below that are public.

So far, I have created character movement and combat, character animation implementation, a targeting and context action system, a graphical HUD for the primary gameplay, and the main menu. I have delegated and oversaw the development of our initial AI and warping system (sort of like a World of Warcraft Blink, where the character moves along the ground slope). This has all been built in Unreal Engine 4, with the vast majority of my work being directly in C++ code.

This project is currently on hold as we work to determine how to proceed. We have a working demo of the game, but have had some difficulties in staffing and funding.
